I started this publication for a simple reason: public information is often technically public, but practically inaccessible.

Governments, universities, and other organizations publish vast amounts of data on budgets, elections, crime, health, housing, transportation, and public policy. Yet much of it remains buried in spreadsheets, PDFs, agency databases, and reports that few people have the time—or expertise—to navigate.

Every issue takes public records and government data and turns them into clear, understandable reporting. We focus on what the numbers actually mean, why they matter, and how they affect communities, institutions, and public life.
